I am just getting to the end of book 2 of Before and After which I love, so I'm up for a kickstarter however I must insist on a branded denim jacket, vintage style, with something on it like "I'm silent barking at you"

I know the new book is a different universe but given that most of the backers are likely to be Ben & Brown fans a God Tier incentive could be a Flesh & Blood location tour with 'Barge Wanker' t-shirts 😁 Also wondering what TEOTWRC can do to support it, can you have a sponsor for a KickStarter campaign??? 🤔

That's a good question. I'm sure we could think of some cross-pollinatory marketing strategems (tm marketing wankers). I could see if I could summon up the courage to walk across the bridge that crosses the ship canal. It's well high!

Merch: a figurine of Ben and Brown 😄

Wow, that's a really cool idea - I guess the drawback is that I don't want to violate anyone's idea of how they look in their heads. A Funko Pop of Brown might be fun though.

Would be interested in early drafts - training to be a copy editor and it would be a good way to see how the process would work on a 'real' book 😀

Blimey - I think you'd laugh if you read the first draft of B&A. It ended with a sort of vet/zombie stand-off in a building and then Ben climbed a tree? *shudders* it's like a bad dream.

As a massive Ben and Brown fan, I'd love to see signed hardback copies - OR a fancy schmancy dual copy of Before and After AND Flesh and Blood combined together in one big jumbo edition 😁

Be fun to throw in some stickers or maybe a tee of funny bits with hints from your previous books - e.g. "Brown is my spirit animal".. or "don't be such a Karl!" 😂 Excited to see what you come up with! I'll be backing you either way 👏🏻 now where did I put me bourbons?

Of course - the Bourbon subscription option!

In the words of the inimitable Mrs Doyle: go on, go on, go on, go on :)

(Quite up for the denim jacket too.)

Pink gang jackets? I reckon it would be easier to embroider those too (obviously, I'll be doing it all myself). Also hi!

Hi to you too! And you didn’t say they’d be PINK. I’m in.

Here's a couple of ideas I've seen other authors do - and a few of my own:

Cheapest first: Personalized thank you email from the author. A set of printable bookmarks featuring quotes from the book - you have some great ones! Signed bookplate (a sticker signed by the author to be placed inside the book). Digital wallpaper featuring artwork inspired by the book. Name listed in the acknowledgments section of the book.

Still cheap but more effort and slightly more cost: Signed postcard featuring artwork from the book. Customized character sketch inspired by the book (digital or physical) - I'd love to see the Fireman! Sticker sheet of characters and the Book Title to decorate your books, notepads etc.

Higher end: Invitation to a virtual book launch party with the author. A signed set of all books by the author. A limited edition, hand-numbered hardcover copy of the book with a custom dust jacket and diamond and ruby encrusted slipcase. (Might be a bit pricey?) You are welcome to put any of these ideas into practice.

Brilliant ideas Kaye - thank you. I think that's basically job done!

I've been thinking about doing the same thing. For my books, obvs. Interested to see your thoughts here. Also, can't wait!

Hey Nicola! Yeah, I'm struggling to see much of a downside, other than the work.

As much as the apocalyptic pub crawl is enticing, I’m afraid I would have one drink and that would be me down! 🤣

Ha! It's fine, I'm a total lightweight anyway, so we could drink water (still or sparkling).

How about a promise to kill us all in the book, that would be fun.
